Where do I unlock the XYZ class/job?

After level 10, you will be able to accept quests from other guilds to unlock new classes.

For battle classes (i.e. the base jobs) you unlock them from the guild in the main cities. Crafting and gathering classes are also unlocked from guilds in these cities.

In Ul'dah:

  • Gladiator - Ul'dah Steps of Thal (X:9 Y:12)
  • Pugilist - Ul'dah Steps of Nald (X:10 Y:10)
  • Thaumaturge - Ul'dah Steps of Nald (X:7 Y:13)
  • Goldsmith - Ul'dah Steps of Thal (X:10 Y:13)
  • Weaver - Ul'dah Steps of Thal (X:13 Y:14)
  • Alchemist Ul'dah Steps of Thal (X:9 Y:14 upstairs)
  • Miner - Ul'dah Steps of Thal (X:11 Y:14)

In Limsa Lominsa:

  • Marauder - Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X:11 Y:6)
  • Rogue - Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:8 Y:16)
  • Arcanist - Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:4 Y:11)
  • Blacksmith - Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X:10 Y:15)
  • Armorer - Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X:10 Y:15)
  • Culinarian - Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X:10 Y:8)

In Gridania:

Jobs are the "advanced" classes, which are unlocked through quests. Each job quest requires a level 30 and level 15 class to unlock, and the level 30 class quest of the former to have been completed.

  • Warrior (Marauder 30, Gladiator 15)
  • Paladin (Gladiator 30, Conjurer 15)
  • Monk (Pugilist 30, Lancer 15)
  • Dragoon (Lancer 30, Marauder 15)
  • Bard (Archer 30, Pugilist 15)
  • White Mage (Conjurer 30, Arcanist 15)
  • Black Mage (Thaumaturge 30, Archer 15)
  • Summoner (Arcanist 30, Thaumaturge 15)
  • Scholar (Arcanist 30, Conjurer 15)
  • Ninja (Rogue 30, Pugilist 15)

There are also 3 Heavensward-only jobs which do not have a base class they build on, but instead require you to have completed the entire level 50 main story questline, and have purchased the first expansion pack, Heavensward.
